The Digital Lab is a state-of-the-art computer classroom. The Digital Lab features 23 IBM PC's loaded with 2.6 GHz Pentium 4 processors, 512 MB of RAM, 60 GB hard drives, 15 inch flatscreen LCD monitors, optical mice, stereo speakers, external CD-RWs, a big-screen projector, Canon photo printer, HP Color Laser Jet printer and Norcent plasma TV screens. The digital lab also makes use of other various equipment, including a dozen digital cameras, as well as a full complement of Lego Mindstorms robotics sets, used during robotics camp.
The Digital Lab is run by a dedicated Education Technology Coordinator (under the supervision of the Vice President of Education) who is responsible for Summer Camp programs, as well as weekday and weekend activites. The Digital Lab is staffed on weekends by an IT specialist who is well versed in all areas of computing and technology.
The Digital Lab is available as a resource to the community. We can host teacher workshops or inservices, provide a place for students to do research, and we are open to the public for several hours a day as a Net Cafe, for Internet access.
